Slovenian visas now issued in SA

THE Slovenian consulate has issued a statement regarding the apparent confusion regarding visas for Slovenia.

Prior to Slovenia’s joining Schengen in December 2007, visitors had to travel abroad to obtain Slovenian visas, however this has since changed. With the country having joined Schengen, visas can now be obtained in South Africa. South African travellers require a Schengen visa to visit the Republic of Slovenia unless they are a European Union (EU) passport holder.

The Slovenian Consulate in South Africa, however, does not deal with visa applications. This function is handled for South African citizens by the consular section of the German diplomatic missions in South Africa on behalf of the Slovenian government.
