Soweto attraction makes 'world best' list

RENOWNED food critic and world traveller, Michael Winner, has singled out Wandie's Place in Soweto, Johannesburg as a restaurant with the "World's Best Ambience" in his book 'Winner's Diners', published annually by Robson Books of the UK.
Proprietor of Wandie's Place, Wandie Ndala, told Travel Now that this award follows the restaurant's merit award of the 2000 Diners Club Winelist of the Year awards.
"It's a wonderful achievement and we see it as taking a step forward into the global arena. However, we will not be complacent and will continue to work harder in an effort to maintain the standards - and better - we've been recognised for."
The book, 'Winner's Diners', features more than 100 restaurants and pubs from around the world.
