Sydney Airport’s Master Plan 2045 has been approved by the Australian Government, paving the way for the airport’s expansion over the next two decades.
The plan will prepare the airport for more than 72 million passengers a year by 2045. It also provides a framework for investment in terminals, transport links and passenger facilities.
The Master Plan will cover planned upgrades across T1, T2 and T3.
Over the coming years, the T1 International Operations Precinct will be upgraded with new facilities and smarter systems to boost capacity, improve flexibility and enhance the overall passenger journey.
To meet growing demand over the next 20 years, the T2 and T3 terminal precinct will be upgraded to create a new Integrated terminal that will make it easier to move between regional, domestic and international flights.
The upgrade will introduce smarter security processes, automated passenger services and better facilities, while expanding capacity to handle more flights, more destinations and a greater variety of aircraft.
