TAAG Angola Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220, marking a milestone in the airline’s fleet modernisation plans.

The aircraft, ordered at the 2022 Farnborough Airshow, arrived in Angola from Mirabel, Canada, sporting TAAG’s new livery.

The livery features the palanca, a black antelope that serves as a national symbol, on the aircraft’s tail and winglets, with the colours of the samakaka, a traditional Angolan fabric.

The airline announced in July that the new 137-seat aircraft would operate local and regional flights, configured with 12 seats in business class and 125 in economy.

The Airbus A220, purpose-built for the 100- to 150-seat market, is one of a family of five-abreast narrow-body airliners built by Airbus Canada Limited Partnership. It is also the most fuel-efficient aircraft in its category, with reduced fuel burn and low noise levels.
