Thailand’s Immigration Bureau has introduced stricter measures to curb the misuse of visa-exempt stays.
According to Thailand’s Public Relations Department, the Immigration Bureau will tighten the screening of 90-day visa-exempt entries, which some travellers have used to extend their stay without returning to their home country on repeated ‘visa runs’.
Visa-exempt travellers will now be capped at two visa runs. Travellers with more visa runs without valid reasons will be denied entry at both international airports and border checkpoints.
