Thailand hosts Gold Travel Counsellors

Achieving Gold status as a Travel Counsellor says that you are the best of the best, a target not many achieve. At Travel Counsellors, we celebrate this exceptional achievement with a special dinner, followed by a trip to a spectacular destination.

This year, the choices included Corfu, Sardinia, Thailand, or Mexico. Four Gold TCs from South Africa - Karin Livingstone, Kirsty Fourie, Nina Gerdener, and Roslyn de la Hunt chose Thailand. They were accompanied by Marc de Jager, BDM at TC South Africa’s Head Office.

A highlight of the trip was a stay at Elephant Hills, a luxury tented camp in the jungles of Khao Sok. This property champions the ethical treatment of elephants and allows visitors to interact with rehabilitated elephants in a kind and non-intrusive way.

Elephant Hills also boasts a floating camp at Cheow Larn Lake, a perfect spot for a memorable afternoon of swimming, kayaking and hilarious lake-side antics as the TCs let their hair down.

Because of the TC buddy system and team structures, the TCs could enjoy their downtime knowing that their customers were being cared for by fellow TCs.

The last day was spent at the Devasom Khao Lak, where the TCs enjoyed activities such as Sound Bath therapy and Forest Bathing. A breathtaking sunset was the backdrop to the evening cocktail function, after which our top performers were treated to a top performance of a different kind, a sensational dinner at Takola, awarded the Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023. A fitting end to an unforgettable trip.

“The TC community is a powerful one, and you get to witness the love and respect everyone has for one another when you attend an event like this,” said De Jager.
