Ethiopia rolls out e-visa service
THE Ethiopian Immigration and
Nationality Affairs main department, in
collaboration with Ethiopian Airlines,
commenced an e-visa service on
June 12.
Applicants can apply for, pay and
secure their visa online. Once it is
approved, applicants will receive
an email authorising approval. The
traveller’s passport will be stamped
with the visa on arrival in Addis Ababa.
Gebreyohannes Teklu, director of
the main department of Ethiopia’s
Immigration and Nationality Affairs,
says separate counters have been set
up to process the visas of travellers
with electronic travel authorisation.
