Three Dreamliners return to KQ

Three of Kenya Airways’ B787 Dreamliners, grounded due to industry supply chain constraints in late 2024, will resume operations this year.

The first will resume services on July 22, the second on September 25 and the third on December 19, confirmed the airline.

The return of the first aircraft will alleviate capacity constraints – which shrunk by 20% due to the grounding – increasing capacity to 85%, says Kenya Airways CEO, Allan Kilavuka, in a statement.

The carrier is also planning to add three narrow-body aircraft to its fleet, offering an additional 528 seats in total.
