City Sightseeing will now offer a digital, cashless service that allows passengers to tip tour guides and bus drivers by using a QR code or tapping a card.

The global leading brand in hop-on hop-off buses, boats and tours signed an agreement with TripAdmit to use the company’s digital tipping service, TipDirect, on all City Sightseeing experiences worldwide. The partnership was announced in a statement from TripAdmit on Thursday.

Matias Machesich, director of sales for TripAdmit, said the company was thrilled to be partnering with City Sightseeing. “As we head closer towards becoming a cashless society our vision is to make it easy for guests everywhere to tip digitally.”

The TipDirect platform not only collects tips but uses generative AI to assist passengers in leaving a personalised review. The platform’s new functionality also includes a social connect function that links directly to the activity provider’s social media pages and other tours.

City Sightseeing offers activities and tours to over 13 million passengers annually. The company operates in South Africa and Kenya, and has a presence on six continents globally, including in major destination hotspots such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Dubai and London.
