Titanic Replica to Set Sail in 2022

Work on the luxury Titanic II, a Blue Star Line project, has continued after being suspended due to financial constraints. The ship is set to sail in 2022.

A replica of the RMS Titanic was first announced in 2012, and now that financial issues have been resolved, work on the
ship has resumed.

The ship will accommodate 2 400 passengers and 900 crew members, and will sail on a two-week maiden voyage from Dubai to Southampton. The vessel will then follow the historic route of the original Titanic between England and the US in the
summer, and then undertake world cruises through the end of the first year.

Just as the original Titanic, Titanic II will be a luxurious ship but will include 21st-century technology, such as
navigation and safety systems to prevent the fateful sinking that occurred the first time around.

Titanic II will look and feel like the original Titanic, including having the same cabin layout.

Blue Star Line’s chairman, Clive Palmer said, “The ship will follow the original journey, carrying passengers from
Southampton to New York, but she will also circumnavigate the globe, inspiring and enchanting people while attracting
unrivaled attention, intrigue and mystery in every port she visits.”
