Germanwings will retire its name on October 25, rebranding to Eurowings, the airline confirmed
to TNW. Lufthansa had been planning to abolish the Germanwings name at some stage in the
future, even before the recent disaster in the French Alps, an article in Business Traveller UK.
“Having two separate short-haul budget carriers, Germanwings and Eurowings, did not make sense,”
the article said.
