Tourism region changes camps

FOLLOWING months of deliberation and the subsequent approval of members, Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof has left the Valley of the Olifants region and joined the Capricorn Region.
Secretary of the Capricorn Region, Debby Tattersall, told Travel Now the move to another region within the Northern Province "made a lot more sense" in terms of marketing the Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof area.
"Our aim is to market ourselves aggressively as a weekend destination and by joining up with Pietersburg, Potgietersrust and the Sekukuni Land - which offers a diversity of cultural, historical and outdoor activities - we are closer to achieving that."
Tattersall says the annual Haenertsburg/Magoebaskloof Spring Fair will take place at the Magoebaskloof Hotel this year from September 23 to October 8 and includes, for the first time, an exhibition by the Wolkberg Orchid Society.
