Thailand-Laos train starts operations

The Thailand-Laos train has started operations, running between Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Station in Bangkok and Khamsavath Railway Station in Vientiane. The journey between the two capital cities takes 12 hours.

The train route is currently running trial operations following its launch, with more concrete schedules to follow once trials have been completed.

LAX Automated People Mover to open in 2026

Construction of a rail project connecting Los Angeles International Airport to the city’s metro rail system, which began in 2019, is expected to be ready for passengers in January 2026.

The project involves the construction of 3,62 km of elevated track and the creation of stations at the airport’s economy parking facilities.

The train will operate 24 hours a day, with trains departing every two minutes during peak hours. The journey time will be ten minutes.

New Spanish train will halve prices

French train operator, Ouigo, will soon offer its new route between Madrid and Malaga after the end of the current summer season. Ticket prices will start at €9 (R179), around half the price charged by other train operators on the same route, such as Renfe, according to EuroWeekly.

Children up to 14 years will travel for €7 (R139) when accompanied by an adult, and babies travel for free.

The train service will begin after the summer season has come to an end.
