The first World Summit of Presidents of Travel Agents Associations was held on November 8 and November 9 in Cordoba, Spain, with the aim of becoming a permanent forum for exchange of experiences and best practices among associations from all over the world.
Topics included new airline distribution models, travel facilitation and connectivity and sustainable tourism.
Otto de Vries, ceo of Asata, says: “Being aware that we have similar problems and uncertainties, we believe that this exchange will enrich all participating associations and will let us show the strength of the co-operation in our sector.”
Asata was one of 12 associations that signed the UNWTO Code of Ethics at the summit.
A second summit has been confirmed for the same period next year in Croatia.
