Travelstart rolls out ‘book now, pay later’ feature

Online travel agency, Travelstart, now offers the option to ‘book now, pay later’ for flights sold on its platform.

Travelstart said the feature, created in association with Payflex, was known to transform consumer habits, leading to higher spend and more frequent purchases.

It allows customers to choose from two different payment plans: four equal, interest-free payments over six weeks or three interest-free instalments aligned with their payday schedule. “For example, a flight from Johannesburg to Durban could now cost as little as R195 per instalment, with no added interest,” said Travelstart.

“This added flexibility addresses a significant need for customers who may find immediate payment requirements to be a barrier,” said Mikha’il Ernest, COO of Travelstart. It will specifically target Generation Z and Millennials, who are driving the worldwide adoption of ‘book now, pay later’ models.
