TripAdvisor focuses on safety

19 Jun 2019 - by Deena Robinson

TRIPADVISOR has introduced

a new safety feature that

makes it easier to find

reviews that contain reports

of safety-related incidents.

A notice will now appear at

the top of each review that

contains safety information,

to make it easier for travellers

to distinguish these from

other reviews.

Examples of reviews that

would be flagged include

any posted in the last year

concerning safety-related

incidents as well as new

reviews containing safety

issues, including assaults,

death and armed robbery.

Speaking to TNW,

Hayley Coleman, senior

communication manager

of TripAdvisor UK, says this

new feature will empower

travellers and advisers

in choosing suitable

accommodation.

Hayley stressed the

importance of the feature

for travel advisers, who, she

says, can use the information

to give clients sound advice

about where they are planning

to travel to, and take action

to support clients who may

be in destinations where

particular safety issues are

developing.
