Vic Falls: Kingdom Hotel to reopen as Grand Hyatt

Hyatt has announced that it will manage the historic Kingdom Hotel in Victoria Falls under the name Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom.

Originally built in 1966 and redeveloped in 1999, the property is set to reopen in late 2027 following renovations to bring it in line with Grand Hyatt brand standards.

The hotel was acquired by Albwardy Investments, a subsidiary of ASB Hospitality, in November last year following an agreement with First Capital.

The hotel will feature 245 rooms, 1 800 sqm of meeting and event spaces, three dining venues, a spa and fitness centre, and a lobby lounge.

Located close to the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls National Park, it is within a five-minute walk of the Falls rainforest and offers easy access to safari circuits, tours, restaurants and cultural experiences. The hotel is also a 20-minute drive from Victoria Falls International Airport.

“We are proud to collaborate with Hyatt to introduce the Grand Hyatt brand to Victoria Falls,” said Ali Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investments. “As one of the destination’s most established hospitality landmarks for more than 60 years, the property holds significant heritage and potential.”
