Wesgro steers London-Cape Town air access

Wesgro is in advanced talks with Virgin Atlantic to introduce direct flights to Cape Town.

Wesgro ceo, Tim Harris, was addressing delegates at the Satsa (Southern Africa Tourism Services Association) conference, which is currently being held at the Wild Coast Sun in KwaZulu Natal.

The London-Cape Town route is dominated by British Airways. “We believe there is room for competition,” he said.

Wesgro’s Cape Town Air Access division was also lobbying the South African Department of Transport to allow low-cost airline Norwegian to establish flights between Gatwick and Cape Town, Tim said.
