50 and fabulous!

Air Mauritius celebrates 50 years of
flying on the 14th of June 2017.
The company has played a major role
in our lives for half a century while
fulfilling its mission as the national
airline of Mauritius.
Air Mauritius was established in June
1967 and its first flight took to the skies
on the 13th of September 1972 with a
Piper Navajo to Rodrigues.
Today Air Mauritius flies to 27
destinations across the European,
African, Asian and Australasian
continents.

African growth
I am very proud to say that Air Mauritius
has invested in and affected a growth
strategy on the African continent. Today,
we fly to Johannesburg, Durban, Cape
Town, Maputo, Dar es Salaam and
Nairobi.
South Africa has been instrumental in
generating incremental revenue through
establishing long-term partnerships and
friendships. Our Travel Smart Program
was born in 2010 and has taken more
South Africans to paradise than any
other leisure program in the country.

Our partners
50 is indeed a huge milestone that
translates into hard work, perseverance
and true success. This has all been
achieved because of the entire value
chain that makes our business
successful and our customers our
heartbeat. I would like to thank
the travel trade, our tour operators,
corporate customers, Kestrelflyers and
valued employees for their passion and
commitment over the years.

New beginnings
Over and above our Big 50, Air
Mauritius is celebrating a year of growth
and further investment. In 2017 Air
Mauritius will take delivery of its Airbus
A350-900s. The A350-900 product
allows Air Mauritius to enjoy operating
efficiencies and technological innovation,
while offering an excellent passenger
experience and greater comfort.
Air Mauritius has also added two
Airbus A330-900neo aircraft to its
current order of the six Airbus
A350-900 aircraft. Furthermore,
Air Mauritius is upgrading the cabin
interiors of its existing fleet with a
view to meet customer expectations
and to consolidate its status as the
leading regional airline.
We are delighted that the
A350-900 will be flying to South
Africa with the first flight
expected in November 2017.
This is very exciting news
and we certainly want all
our loyal and valuable
partners to experience
our new island in the sky.
Thank you for your
ongoing and invaluable
support over the
years and making Air
Mauritius a carrier of
choice and excellence!
Warm regards

Carla da Silva
