Acsa accused: bribery, braai packs and bags of money

Airports Company South Africa has released a brief statement regarding allegations made by a former executive at Bosasa during his testimony before the Zondo Commission on State Capture.

Angelo Agrizzi, former COO of Bosasa, a facilities management firm implicated in state capture, testified before the commission that the company spent between R4m and R6m a month in bribes to government officials. He said top Acsa officials were the recipients of bribes that included cash, expensive gifts and groceries and even braai packs, in an attempt to secure tenders.

Speaking today (January 17), Agrizzi told the commission that the tenders in question related to facilities management at OR Tambo International Airport, and latterly to airports across the country.

Acsa has noted the allegations and says: “Due process will be followed internally to test the credibility of the allegations made by Mr Agrizzi and any other submissions that may arise through the Zondo Commission as they relate to the company.”

Acsa plans on co-operating with the Zondo Commission, and has said it will respond through the appropriate channels.
