AIRPORTS Company South
Africa’s (Acsa) next step
in its plan to reduce
airport crime was to get crime
relating to metered taxis and
Ubers, specifically in Sandton,
under control, ceo Bongani
Maseko told TNW.
This follows Acsa’s success
in working with the South
African Police Service (SAPS)
as well as customs and
immigration officials to reduce
follow-home crime from OR
Tambo International Airport
(Ortia).
He says Acsa will be working
closely with SAPS to reduce
criminal incidents involving
metered taxis and Ubers.
Acsa reported revenue growth
of 34% to R8,6bn in the year
ended March 31, 2017, with
profit up 10,8% to R2bn.
