Atlas adds more fly-in Antarctica sailings

Atlas Ocean Voyages is expanding its Fly the Drake Expeditions, giving travellers more time ashore and less time crossing the Drake Passage.

The cruise line will offer six departures across two itineraries: Drake Express and Drake Fly & Sail.

The Drake Express features a seven-night round trip from King George Island with a private charter flight between Punta Arenas, Chile, and Antarctica, allowing guests to bypass the traditional two-day Drake Passage crossing in both directions.

The Drake Fly & Sail Expedition gives travellers the chance to experience the Drake Passage by sea in one direction before returning by private charter flight from King George Island to Punta Arenas, an approximately two-hour flight.

Each itinerary includes private charter flights, one-night hotel stays in Punta Arenas before and after the expedition, and six full days exploring Antarctica through Zodiac safaris and guided landings led by Atlas' expedition team.

Guests will sail aboard the cruise line’s Polar Category C Ice Class yachts, which accommodate up to 200 guests.

The yachts offer spacious suites, social spaces, daily changing menus with plant-based selections, premium beverages, 24-hour room service, gratuities and onboard programming, all included as part of the brand's Always Included experience.
