Travel IT-provider SITA is in the process of upgrading Air France-KLM Group’s 400 self-service kiosks at Paris- CDG, Schiphol and other airport hubs around Europe. These improved kiosks will have improved functionalities

According to a SITA press release, the TS6 smart self-service kiosks will now offer improved payment features and functionalities, including that of seamlessly accepting ancillary fees via contactless cards and smartphones. Use of Payment Card Industry-compliant chips and pin terminals as well as point-to-point encryption will increase security and save airlines time and money.

AF-KL will be able to customise the kiosks in the future, ensuring kiosk longevity and making it easy to introduce new services such as biometrics.

Sergio Colella, SITA President for Europe, said: “With continued growth in passenger volumes, digitalising the passenger journey with new self-service options will be vital. This will help streamline the flow of passengers through the airport and give travellers more control over their journey.”

Pierre-Olivier Bandet, AF-KL Executive VP Information Systems, said: “Today, our check-in kiosks across our hubs in Charles de Gaulle and Schiphol airports are a vital element of our self-service offering to our passengers. To deliver this, we need a fleet of kiosks that are dependable, always available, and easy for passengers to use.”
