CLOSE to 2 000 companies - 5% of which will be overseas visitors from as far afield as the United Kingdom, the United States and Singapore - will be attending the Gifts of Africa exhibition at Johannesburg's Kyalami Exhibition Centre from June 27 to 29.
The exhibition, organised by Expo Trends, is in its second year and will feature over 60 exhibitors showcasing traditional African gifts and decor items from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia.
According to Gloria Bastos, one the partners at Expo Trends, the retail and wholesale exhibition is primarily aimed at members of the tourism industry who will purchase gift items for their curio shops and interior decoration items to furnish their lodges or guest houses.
International wholesalers also mostly purchase for African decor or gift stores in their countries.
