Air Botswana looks to resume CPT-GBE flight

AIR Botswana is in
negotiations with the
Botswanan government
to secure funds for the
acquisition of a new
aircraft to service the
Cape Town-Gaborone
route.
“The Cape TownGaborone
route is
currently out of service,”
Botswana’s Minister
of Transport and
Communications,
Kitso Mokaila, told a
press briefing. He said
the Ministry intended
to procure a new jet
within three months.
“The service will resume
when our jet comes,”
said Kitso.
The Cape TownGaborone
route was
operated by Air Botswana
through a lease and
codesharing agreement
with CemAir. Kitso said
the agreement had
since expired and Air
Botswana had not
renewed it.
Air Botswana previously
operated a four-timesa-week
service on the
route.
