EY – additional flights on sale
ETIHAD Airways has reaffirmed its commitment to start Airbus
A380 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operations in December 2014,
with additional flights on sale for both aircraft. The A380 will be
deployed on Etihad Airways’ three daily flights between Abu Dhabi
and London, together with selected flights to Sydney, during its first
year of operations. Between December and June, the B787-9 will
be introduced on six of the airline’s routes, including Düsseldorf,
Doha, Washington DC, Mumbai, Brisbane and Moscow. Etihad will
debut its new first, business and economy class products onboard
the aircraft, and will also introduce The Residence by Etihad, a new
concept exclusive to its A380. The Residence features the only
three-room cabin in the sky.
Singapore puts A380 on Auckland route
SINGAPORE Airlines will operate an A380 on its Auckland service
from October 27. The 471-seat A380 will be deployed daily on flight
SQ285, departing Singapore at 20h50 and arriving in Auckland
at 11h45 the following day. The return flight, SQ286, will depart
Auckland at 13h30, arriving in Singapore at 19h00. The route
is currently serviced by B777-200ERs, which also service the
Christchurch route. Singapore Airlines currently operates its A380
to Beijing, Frankfurt, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Mumbai, New
Delhi, New York, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo Narita and Zurich.
Air France launches A380 service to Miami
STARTING December 1, Air France will operate flights to Miami
from Paris-Charles de Gaulle using the A380. Throughout the winter
season, the airline will operate up to seven flights a week to Miami.
AF090 will depart Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 13h50 and arrive in
Miami at 18h05. AF099 will depart Miami at 20h55 and arrive at
Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 11h20 the next day. The AF A380 has
516 seats in four cabin classes: nine in La Première, 80 in business
class, 38 in premium economy and 389 seats in economy class.
Air Botswana implements ticketing fee
All passengers who purchase Air Botswana tickets at the airline’s
airport ticketing offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town will now
be charged an airport ticketing service fee of R350. The fee applies
to purchases done through the reservations office. The following
conditions apply:
The charge applies to all passenger and fare types per ticket
issued.
No discounts or waivers apply for the airport ticketing service fee.
The airport ticketing service fee is not interline-able.
The fee only applies to the initial ticket issuance and does not
apply to revalidated, reissued, or exchanged tickets.
All airport ticketing service fees are considered consumed at the
time of ticket purchase and therefore are not refundable.
