Air Mauritius CEO and CFO suspended

Air Mauritius’s Board of Directors announced last week that CEO, Krešimir Kučko, and CFO, Jean Laval Al Chip, had been suspended pending an internal investigation regarding the executives accepting a supplier-sponsored stay in a hotel in France.

According to airspace-africa.com, an investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding a trip the CEO and CFO took to France, during which Air Mauritius aircraft-supplier, Aercap, paid for all their travel expenses. The enquiry is investigating the occurrence as a possible violation of the principles of corporate governance.

During the investigation, the airline will be under the interim management of Operational Chief, Alain Leing Hing Wah, and Commercial Chief, Laurent Recoura.

Kučko was appointed Chief Executive nine months ago. He has 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry and previously headed Croatia Airlines from 2012 to 2017 and Gulf Air from 2017 to 2021.
