Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has unveiled a new European Business Class, set to launch sales on May 6.

The offering will be available on all international European routes, including intra-Scandinavian flights.

It features enhanced onboard dining with porcelain tableware, blocked middle seats for added privacy, a dedicated front-cabin section, and priority services on the ground such as check-in, boarding, and lounge access.

Singapore Airlines upgrades lounges

Singapore Airlines will upgrade its lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 over the next two years.

Renovations, which began on April 15, will take place in phases and will be completed around mid-2027. The revamped lounges will have 50% more space and seating capacity, and feature upgraded facilities.

The First-Class SilverKris Lounge will offer live cooking stations that will serve Singaporean, Asian and Western cuisine. The Business-Class SilverKris Lounge will expand by 30% and will include a rest area with recliners, and a redesigned living room area with wingback chairs, sofa seats, and working pods.

The self-service buffet will be expanded in both lounges and the bar will offer barista services in the morning and cocktails in the evening.

The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double its capacity, offering armchairs, workstations, and dining seats. New amenities will include in-lounge restrooms and shower suites.

Antalya Airport expansion

Antalya Airport in Turkey has completed the first phase of a major expansion.

The international Terminal 2 has grown by 132 000sqm, and the domestic terminal by 38 000sqm.

Operated by a joint venture between Germany’s Fraport AG and Turkey’s TAV Airports Holding, the €850 million (R18,1bn) project also includes new taxiways, a parking facility and upgraded apron infrastructure. A new air traffic control tower will be handed over by the end of 2026.

Travellers can also enjoy upgraded dining options through ‘Best Food for All’, a new joint venture between Fraport and an airport food specialist responsible for operating 29 restaurants at the airport. The restaurants offer snacks, international chains and local Turkish specialities.
