Qantas exits Jetstar Japan

Qantas is exiting its investment in Jetstar Japan, marking the end of a 14-year partnership.

The airline has signed a binding agreement to facilitate the change in Jetstar Japan’s shareholder structure through a share buyback transaction.

The transaction will see the Qantas Group divest its minority (33,32%) shareholding stake, allowing Jetstar Japan to move away from the ‘Jetstar’ brand to a new identity.

Under the agreed structure, Development Bank of Japan Inc. will acquire an equity interest, entering as a new shareholder.
