Lufthansa to upgrade A320s
Lufthansa has received the first in a series of upgraded A320s to operate its continental long-, medium- and short-haul flights.
The retrofitted cabins feature:
- Upgraded seats with enhanced ergonomics and adjustable headrest.
- Business-class seats now recline further.
- 40% larger overhead bins.
- USB-A and USB-C ports for charging cellphones.
- Tablet and smartphone holders for comfortable streaming.
An additional 37 A320s will be retrofitted by 2029.
Nigeria airports get Wi-Fi
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has partnered with MTN Nigeria to roll out complimentary Internet access at Nigeria’s biggest airports.
The complimentary Wi-Fi is already installed in Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport domestic Terminal 2 and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The initiative will soon expand to Murtala Muhammed’s Temporary Terminal, which is currently handling international departures while Terminal 1 undergoes refurbishments, with further roll-outs planned for international gateways in Enugu, Port Harcourt and Kano over the next three months.
KQ codeshares with JetBlue
Kenya Airways has signed a unilateral codeshare agreement with the US low-cost carrier, Jet Blue, to offer travellers onward flights from New York.
Kenya Airways will place its flight code on 10 JetBlue routes operating to New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport. This includes JetBlue’s flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Orlando, West Palm Beach and Lauderdale, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; and San Juan in Puerto Rico.
Kenya Airways operates four weekly direct flights to JFK.
