Airlink converts fares to USD

Airlink has converted all fares originating from South Africa to US dollars as of April 2, to align with IATA Resolution 024a, which came into effect in October 2024.

The conversion will be implemented progressively on a country-by-country basis and will be rolled out in batches over a three-week period.

According to a notice by the airline, all fares originating from South Africa will reflect in USD in the GDS. While the base fare will reflect in USD, the total fare will be converted to ZAR using the applicable daily Bank Selling Rate.

Taxes, fees and surcharges will continue to be charged in the point-of-sale currency, while any ticket reissues will be processed in USD, with conversions applied at the prevailing exchange rate on the date of transaction.
