Airlink will resume flights to Maseru’s Moshoeshoe I International Airport on November 7.
Airlink suspended its three daily flights to Maseru on the evening of November 5 due to the lack of serviceable fire and rescue equipment at the airport.
The airline said it would resume its services as soon as the airport operator restored the regulated emergency response capability. This is in line with international civil aviation requirements for airports handling aircraft that are typically used for scheduled air services.
Two of the airport’s fire engines had to undergo repairs. Airlink confirmed that the airport operator was able to repair one and another has been loaned from the Lesotho Defence Force while it finalises repairs on the second fire engine.
