On April 7, Al Safir Tourism opened its new office in Wynberg, Cape Town, crowning a new era of expansion and diversification.
Sedick Steenkamp, Director of Al Safir Tourism, said the move was part of Al Safir’s broader plans to expand its reach in South Africa as a travel agency and to eventually serve an as inbound tour operator.
“Because of the change in the Hajj outbound travel market, we want to expand and focus more on offering travel expertise for Africa,” said Steenkamp. “Africa is a complicated travel market and it can be expensive, but it also has underutilised potential and we plan to offer expertise to serve this.”
Al Safir is also looking to use its new Cape Town office to serve the growing inbound tourism market in Cape Town.
“We are looking at diversifying our business in order to grow. We are going to look at serving the inbound market as well, particularly in Cape Town. Cape Town is becoming a very popular place for tourists,” said Steenkamp.
