A theme park dedicated to famous animation company Studio Ghibli’s classic films has opened in Nagakute, Japan.

Located at the site of the 2005 World Fair, Ghibli Park brings to life scenes from films like Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro.

Inspired by the studio’s most popular movies, the park is split into five areas: Hill of Youth, Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Dondoko Forest, Mononoke’s village and the Valley of the Witches.

Currently, only the first three areas are open to the public, with the rest opening next year.

On Tuesday (November 2), visitors queued to be the first to enter, overseen by Goro Miyazaki, son of renowned Studio Ghibli co-founder, Hayao Miyazaki.
