Aberdeen has approved a 7% visitor levy for overnight stays in the city.
The levy is expected to be implemented in April 2027 and funds raised will go towards infrastructure used by tourists.
According to BBC, the average hotel room in Aberdeen costs about £70 (R1 664), meaning visitors could pay nearly £5 (R120) extra per night.
Aberdeen’s proposed charge is higher than the 5% approved for Edinburgh and Glasgow.
