as reserve manager. Drienie
has 11 years of luxury lodge
management experience that
includes Azura at Quilalea
Private Island, Sabi Sabi Earth
Lodge, and Madikwe Hills
and Royal Madikwe Lodge in
the Madikwe Game Reserve.
Graham has extensive private
camp and reserve management
experience gained at various
private properties including
Shamwari Game Reserve.

joined the Trade

at Cruises
International.
Durban-born
Maritsa was VIP executive
concierge celebrity for 11 years
and was also on the organising
Pageant 2008. She has also
served as personal assistant to
Tom Cruise.
■ Lee Watts has
joined Travelstart’s
HR manager,
Shireen McWhite,
to lead Talent
Acquisition at
the OTA. Lee
brings over 10 years’ local and
international experience in the
commerce-related market.
■ Dorcas Dlamini,
group sales
director of Protea
Hotels, has been
appointed vicechairperson
of
the board of the
Southern African Association
for the Conference Industry
(Saaci). Dorcas’s appointment
will run for two years.
■ Monray Smith has been
appointed rooms division
manager at Park Inn by
Radisson Cape Town.
Monray began her career
with the Carlson Rezidor
Hotel Group in 2009 and
has previously held roles
as a switchboard operator,
receptionist, service manager
and executive housekeeper.
■ Trevor Philander
has been
appointed the new
gm of Southern
Sun Pretoria.
Trevor started at
Southern Sun
Newlands and moved to Garden
Court Mthatha as housekeeper
in 1997. His first post as gm
was at Garden Court Kimberley
in 2010.
■ Glen Grant, previous
business development manager
at Lufthansa, has taken over
from Natasha Freeman as the
new AirPlus representative in
South Africa following Natasha’s
move to Sabre.
