Are visas being rejected because of Ebola?

An agent told eTNW that her client had his Chinese visa rejected on the basis that he had recently travelled to the DRC for business purposes and could be an Ebola risk.

As proof of air tickets is often required as part of the visa application process, rejections can be costly for agents and clients.

The Chinese Embassy said it had not implemented an official policy regarding travellers who had visited areas affected by the recent Ebola outbreak.

Have you recently had an embassy reject a client’s visa application for this reason? If so, email savannahf@nowmedia.co.za and share your experience.
