Azamara ventures beyond the sea

AZAMARA will turn its

attention to land offerings

with expanded pre- and

post-voyage programmes,

and has rebranded to reflect

this, dropping ‘Club Cruises’

from its name.

With the rebranding, the

company has turned its

attention from club-style

cruising to destination

immersion, with over

1 700 land programmes,

which will further enhance

its product offering, says

Thaybz Khan, contemporary

brand manager at Cruises

International.

Available on every voyage

starting from October,

these programmes will

offer insider access to

destinations from local

guides and experts, through

collaborations with various

travel companies.

These include Micato

Safaris, operating luxury

safaris in southern and East

Africa; PerryGolf, offering

golf tours in Scotland and

Ireland; COLTUR Peru,

specialising in Peru tours;

and Furlong Incoming, a

travel agency specialising in

Argentina. These partners

will operate over 75% of the

land programmes. Azamara

aims to provide itineraries

in over 41 countries in the

next two years. All land

packages include transfers

to/from the ship, airport and

between land tour cities.

Land programmes include

AzAmazing, Land and Stay

Local Journeys, which offer

off-the-beaten path and

interactive experiences

with locals, as well as

‘crash courses’ in the

city of embarkation or

disembarkation, pre- or postcruise, for travellers with

limited time.
