BA adds electric taxis to premium transfer fleet

British Airways has introduced new electric taxis at Heathrow.

They join the airline’s fleet of chauffeur-driven executive vehicles, to take premium customers who risk missing their connecting flight, straight to the aircraft. Customers are met by the driver at the aircraft and are driven directly to their onward flight, free of charge.

The environmentally friendly electric taxis have panoramic rooftops and are equipped with WiFi, phone, laptop and USB charging facilities. They are air-conditioned and have space for hand luggage.

The initiative is part of British Airways’ long-term plan to reduce emissions from all vehicles at Heathrow and follows the introduction of electric pushback vehicles.
