Royal Caribbean will implement stricter drink package rules for all guests of legal drinking age sharing a stateroom.
From August 1, when a passenger purchases the Deluxe Beverage Package, all other adults in the same stateroom will also be required to buy the same package.
Previously, guests could ask for an exemption for other passengers in the stateroom. However, due to increased drink package sharing, which violates the Deluxe Beverage Package guidelines, the cruise line will no longer offer drink package exemptions.
“Royal Caribbean will no longer be able to grant exceptions to our policy that both guests in a stateroom must purchase the Deluxe Beverage Package,” Royal Caribbean stated. “This change allows us to ensure guests are consuming their beverage package responsibly. Over time, requests for exceptions have increased and sharing of packages has continued, which led us to implement this policy change.”
