BA launches short-haul semi-flex fare

British Airways has rolled out its hand-baggage-only and new semi-flex fare options across its short-haul network in the UK.
The seats are on sale for travel on European and domestic routes to and from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City Airport.
The semi-flex fare gives customers the benefits of a standard fare, such as baggage allowance and food and drinks as well as free booking changes on the day of departure from the same airport to the same destination, the ability to select a seat free two days prior to travel and no change fee prior to the day of travel.
The semi-flex option, however, offers customers an option between a standard ticket and a fully-flex one. It gives travellers the opportunity on the day of travel to change their booking at no charge. There will be no change or service fees and customers won’t have to pay the difference between the cost of their original ticket and the price available on the day.
If a traveller needs to make a change to the booking the day before they travel, they will not incur a change fee, just any fare differences.
Those with a semi-flex fare will also be able to reserve a seat free on ba.com two days before travel, rather than 24 hours as with a standard fare.
Travellers will also be able to mix and match between the standard, semi-flex and fully flex fare classes between flights.
