BA restructures regionally

29 Aug 2018 - by Hilka Birns

BRITISH Airways’ South

African administration

offices have moved

from Melrose to smaller

premises in Sandton, but

the call centre number

and e-mail addresses for

sales managers remain

unchanged.

This follows

restructuring across

the region to improve

efficiencies, says

Sue Petrie, regional

commercial manager

trade Southern and East

Africa. Sue says BA’s call

centre in Kenya closed

and moved to India.

This means Sue and

Cristina Graham, regional

commercial manager

corporate Southern and

East Africa, are now

looking after a larger area

that includes East Africa.

“The new structure and

working practices mean

we don’t need as much

space.” Apart from one

resignation, there have

been no job losses in

South Africa as a result

of the change, she says.

She adds that

Speedbird Club will

remain the primary

source of information for

travel agents. The travel

trade call centre number

remains 010 344 0127.

Sales managers can

be contacted on their

mobile phones and all

their numbers remain the

same.

“Our address may

have changed, but it’s

still business as usual,”

Sue says.
