British Airways will begin the switch from Terminal 7 to Terminal 8 at JFK International Airport on November 17. The carrier will then operate from both terminals for two weeks before relocating entirely to Terminal 8 from December, joining American Airlines.
A massive US$400m (R7,25bn) Terminal 8 facilities investment is under way, which will see five new gates, a premium check-in area and three lounges.
Terminal 7 will then be demolished and replaced with a new Terminal 6, which will also cover the site of the original Terminal 6, which was demolished in 2011.
