On Friday, September 7, British Airways sent an email to customers warning of a data breach.
It read: '"From 22h58 BST, August 21 until 21h45 BST September 5, 2018 inclusive, the personal and financial details of customers making or changing bookings at ba.com, and on our app were compromised. The stolen data did not include travel or passport information."
The airline added that the breach has been resolved and the website is now working normally. It further recommend that clients contact their bank, or credit card provider for advice on how to ensure the safety of their financial information.
"We take the protection of your personal information very seriously. Please accept our deepest apologies for the worry and inconvenience that this criminal activity has caused."
BA added that customers can visit its website for further information.
