There is an indefinite a backlog on BSP Link refunds for both Air France and KLM, resulting in agents having to wait longer for refunds to be processed.
A spokesperson from AF KLM says: “It is difficult to say when the backlog will be cleared as these refund requests need in-depth investigation. However, we would like to assure the trade that every effort is being made to clear this backlog as soon as possible.”
Monique Del Valle, Pentravel travel adviser, says: “Our clients are advised that it could take between eight and 12 weeks to get a refund, so most clients are aware that it could take up to three months. It can be frustrating for travel agents if the refund takes longer, as clients get frustrated.”
She adds that the best thing to do is be honest with clients and inform them of the backlog.
Online BSP refunds are designed for agents who need to request refunds on tickets that they cannot find directly via the GDS auto refund system, such as expired tickets or complex refunds.
