Beachcomber adds crypto payment option

Beachcomber Tours has integrated crypto payments into its payment system, allowing customers to pay in cryptocurrencies as well as EFT, debit/credit card and Apple/Google Pay.

According to Beachcomber, around 5,8 million South Africans are active in crypto, with estimates greater than US$500million (R8,5 billion) held in crypto wallets.

“The owners of these wallets are our target customers and we feel that they would welcome the idea of being able to pay for a big ticket item like a family holiday using their crypto wallets. More and more retailers are accepting crypto as form of payment – especially travel retailers globally,” said Gary Mulder, MD of Beachcomber Tours.

Most cryptocurrencies are accepted under the new payment system, including Binance, Luna, VALR and Bitcoin. Agents can now offer crypto as a payment option for their customers via the payment link that is sent to them.
