Update: eTNW understands that outbound flights at OR Tambo have also been delayed as a result. In specific this afternoon's SAA Gabarone and UU Reunion flights.

The majority of flights scheduled to depart King Shaka International Airport (DUR) today (November 27) between 06h00 and 07h00 were delayed by an hour, according to Acsa.

The backlog is expected to be cleared by midday, but passengers are encouraged to liaise with the airport with regard to revised flight times.

Colin Naidoo, spokesperson for the airport, told eTNW that the delay resulted from a shortage of SAA Technical staff on site."By 07h00 SAA Technical had flown in another engineer and the flights were able to depart, having undergone the required checks."
