Montenegro, currently on the UK amber list will move to the red list at 04h00 on Monday August 30. All passengers arriving in the UK after that will have to follow the red list rules - no tourists (only UK residents and special visas allowed), mandatory  pre-booked, prepaid hotel quarantine for 11 nights and PCR tests.

This was contained in the UK government’s new rearranged red, green and amber listings for countries, graded according to an undisclosed protocol relating to Covid-infections and vaccination.

Simultaneously, Thailand will also move from amber to red at the same time.

Canada, Denmark, Finland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania and Switzerland move from amber to the green list on August 30, 04h00. Portugal (including the Azores) Madeira is on the green watchlist, which means it is expected to move to the green list in the near future.

Meanwhile, while Serbia remains on the UK’s amber list Croatia, currently on the UK green list is being watched and could move to the amber list.  While the PCR testing period for entry into Croatia from the rest of the world has changed to a test result within 72 hours of entry, for South Africa, India and Brazil, the requirement is still that the PCR result be no older than 48 hours on entry.

Also in danger of moving from the green list to the amber list are: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bermuda, Dominica, Falklands, Grenada, Israel, Madeira, Montserrat, Slovakia, Taiwan and Turks&Caicos.

No countries on the UK red list are scheduled to move from red to amber currently.
