BREAKING NEWS: ‘We must save MK’ – administrators

Air Mauritius has appointed Sattar Hajee Abdoula, FCA, and Arvindsingh K. Gokhool, FCCA, as voluntary administrators and they are determined to save the airline.

Sattar says the airline has not filed for bankruptcy and that the administrators plan to create “conducive conditions” for restructuring opportunities that could keep the airline afloat.

“Our objectives are to safeguard the interests of the company and, more importantly, re-engineer its activities so that it can take off again once this crisis is over,” says Sattar.

The administrators are currently working with management to ensure that Air Mauritius continues to operate. The phased resumption of operations is subject to the lifting of COVID-19 travel restrictions by authorities.

The new flexible booking policies on the airline’s website still apply for customers who have booked tickets or who are in possession of vouchers for future travel.
