Carnival to launch four new ships

Four brands from Carnival Corporation – Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises (UK) and Princess Cruises – will debut new cruise ships throughout the year.

P&O Cruises will be the first to launch its new ship in May. Iona will feature an entertainment venue, event space, 30 different bars and restaurants and a destination-themed spa. Following the launch, it will sail from Southampton exclusively to the Norwegian fjords during the inaugural season with departures throughout spring and summer 2020, followed by winter sun holidays to the Canaries, Spain and Portugal.

Princess Cruises’ 3 660-guest Enchanted Princess will debut in Rome in June. The ship will feature a new dining experience, more pools, whirlpool hot tubs, various entertainment venues and will also feature Sky Suites. Enchanted Princess will depart from Southampton on its 10-day maiden voyage to Rome, where it will begin a series of Mediterranean cruises for the summer and autumn before repositioning to Fort Lauderdale in November for sailings to the Caribbean for the winter season.

Costa Cruises will launch its second cruise ship that specifically focuses on the Chinese market. Costa Firenze will debut in October and the ship will feature a wide choice of Chinese food, Chinese-style karaoke and parties. Costa Firenze will head to China, offering cruising for Chinese customers beginning October 20.

Carnival Cruise Line will launch its new cruise ship, Mardi Gras, in November and will feature the first ever roller-coaster at sea. The ship will also feature six themed zones on board offering a variety of food, beverage and entertainment choices. Mardi Gras will operate year-round seven-day Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral.

Carnival Corporation plans to introduce 16 new ships to its fleet by 2025.
